The Amity Board of Education has approved a proposed 2026-2027 budget of $58,809,212, representing an increase of $700,213, or 1.20 percent, over the current fiscal year. The budget was developed over several months, beginning in August, with input from district staff, the Amity Finance Committee
Risana Ahmed of Orange, Connecticut, was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Southern Connecticut State University.


The Superintendent’s proposed budget for 2026-2027 was presented to the Amity Finance Committee and the Amity Board of Education throughout January, February, and March. Orange Community Nursery School held is annual Friendship Food Drive during the month of February. Students from the 3 year old class delivered food to the food bank. Thank you to the families for a successful food drive!

Gel plate printing is a beginner-friendly monoprinting technique that uses a reusable gel plate, water-based paints, and textures to create unique, one-of-a-kind prints on paper without a printing press.


Suzuki Music Schools has scheduled the next performance in its Children’s Cookie Concert Series for Saturday, March 14th, at 3:00 PM. The event will be held at 480 Racebrook Road, located within St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church.


Serena Giampa of Orange, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus, located in Madison, NJ, has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2025 semester.


Macie Salado of Orange was named to the College of the Holy Cross Fall 2025 Dean's List. A member of the Class of 2029, Salado was named to the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2025-26 academic year.


Tufts University recently announced the dean's list for the fall 2025 semester. Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater. The following students from Orange received honors


On February 2, 2026, six students from Orange Public Schools were honored by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) at an awards ceremony recognizing excellence in the visual and performing arts. The music teachers, art teachers, and principals joined the honorees at the reception.


The Library will be closed on Monday, February 16 for Presidents' Day. The Library will reopen on Tuesday, February 17 at 10 a.m.
