Genesis Brunch & Co. Celebrates Grand Opening
Over 100 friends, family, staff, and community members braved the wind on Saturday to mark the grand opening of Genesis Brunch & Co., 501 Boston Post Road, Orange.
A respite from the rain allowed Genesis Brunch owner Erica Mcqueen to open her doors and showcase "a fresh brunch experience" with craft cocktails and "beautiful plates." A ribbon-cutting organized by the Amity Chamber of Commerce was followed by a reception, with the restaurant opening for brunch. Amity Chamber CEO Barry Lee Cohen, Town of Orange Selectman Mitch Goldblatt, and State Representative Kathy Kennedy (R-119) joined in the celebration.
Mcqueen said, "Today we celebrate new beginnings, beautiful moments, great food, amazing drinks, and the beginning of something special. To everyone who supported, encouraged, prayed, shared a post, showed up, or helped bring Genesis to life, thank you!" Mcqueen also co-owns Queen's Delight Cafe in Bridgeport.
Mcqueen's reinvention of traditional brunch favorites has resulted in innovative dishes, which include steak and eggs with rib eye steak to croissant pizza with a garlic crust drizzled in truffle oil. From "Bang Bang Fried Cauliflower" to strawberry cheesecake, the wide-ranging menu also features "Salmon BLT," "Brunch Burgers," and "Crispy Chicken & Pancakes," amongst other selections. The renovated space includes a bar, dining rooms, outdoor patio, photo booth, and private booth seating.
Cohen said, "Erica's incredible and creative culinary skills offer a diverse menu that is committed to tantalizing every taste bud. The opening of Genesis Brunch is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit that marks a genesis --a new beginning-- for Erica and a delightful dining experience for family gatherings, business meetings, and celebrations large and small."
