The Goddard School of Orange is honored to present the 2023 Bob Marchetti & Gerard Kick Memorial Scholarship to Troy Ramos. Now in its 2nd year, this $5,000 scholarship is granted annually to a Goddard School of Orange pre-k graduate who demonstrates a hard work ethic and perseverance.


The John Smyth Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Amity H. S. Graduate Caitlyn Shanley. Caitlyn is the daughter of Patrick and Whitney Shanley of Orange. The award was presented at the Knights of St. Patrick in New Haven.


Harrisonburg, VA - Orange, CT resident, Annika Lyngdal, has enrolled at James Madison University for the fall 2023 semester. Lyngdal has selected Health Sciences - BS as a major.

Congregation Or Shalom member, Lauren Seplowitz drops off 17 lbs. of pop tab/tops for the Ronald McDonald House in New Haven, associated with the Yale New Haven Hospital. Many, many people have been collecting beverage pop-tops, cat and dog food can pop tabs, beans and soup can tabs, etc.

The Holy Infant Church Women’s Guild is having their annual membership tea on Sunday, September 10th from 2 - 4 pm. It will be held in the Women’s Guild Hall at 450 Racebrook Road. Membership for the Guild is $15.00. To RSVP for the tea, call (203)430-5253 by September 5th.


The 4th Pan American Kung Fu Championships was held in Markham, Ontario, Canada, at the Markham Pan Am Center on August 3 through August 6. The PAKFC is the Pan American version of the world Kung Fu championships. This exciting event was from 8/3-8/6, which involved nearly 800 athletes from all

Jean Marie Lewis, 87, of Orange passed away with her family at her side on July 14, 2023, at Maplewood of Orange. For 67 years, she was the loving wife of Donald Jackson Lewis, Sr. Jean was born in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Malaby. She is survived by her children


Anne (Martone) Rapini, 101, passed peacefully on July 12, 2023, with her children by her side. Born in New Haven on February 25, 1922, daughter of the late Rose (Trotta) and Thomas Martone. Predeceased by her husband of 77 years, Albert; and her loving son, Dennis Joseph Rapini.
