Tour de Faith: Guided Visit to Mevlana Mosque in West Haven
The Congregations of Orange Collaborative (COC), in partnership with Peace Islands Institute Connecticut and Wellspring Community Center, will host "Tour de Faith: Visit to a Turkish Mosque" on Saturday, October 18, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The event will take place at the Mevlana Mosque, located at 546 Ocean Avenue in West Haven.
The guided visit is part of the ongoing Tour de Faith interfaith series, which aims to provide community members with greater knowledge about different religions and foster understanding. During the visit, the Imam will explain the mosque’s architectural design, discuss the Turkish Muslim faith, and outline the key elements of the religious service.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served following the tour.
Attendees are asked to observe the following visitor guidelines to maintain a respectful worship environment:
- Wear modest clothing with shoulders, arms, and legs covered.
- Bring a head covering, such as a shawl or scarf, which is requested for women inside the prayer space.
- Remove shoes before entering the sanctuary.
