Performance of Life of Abigail Adams at Case Memorial Library

On Saturday, May 30 at 2 pm, actress Sheryl Faye will perform her live, one-woman, multimedia show entitled “Abigail Adams - Liberty and Legacy.” One delightful way to commemorate America's 250th birthday is by attending this portrayal of Abigail Adams. The first lady’s wit, wisdom, and courage sparkle in this exceptional performance.
Ms. Faye states the following about her show: “Through Adams’ own letters and writings - paired with contemporary staging, original music, and technology - the show invites audiences to experience her enduring relevance in conversations about liberty, equality, leadership, and civic responsibility.” Indeed, from a modern perspective, Adams was “a stalwart feminist, a champion of women's rights and equality under the law.”
Before the performance at 1pm, the Friends will host their Annual Business Meeting The agenda includes the election of new board members, the awarding of the Lucia Scillia scholarships, and a report from the Treasurer. The President of the Friends Phyllis Gwatkin will also present her year-end review that includes how the donations and book sales have helped to fund events and other necessary projects for the library. At 1:30 pm, guests may enjoy delectable refreshments before the 2 pm show begins.
