Holiday Closing
The Library will be closed on Monday, February 16 for Presidents' Day. The Library will reopen on Tuesday, February 17 at 10 a.m.

American Mah Jongg Club
Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
American Mah Jongg club for players of all skill levels. These sessions are intended for players who are familiar with American Mah Jongg as instruction is not provided.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own American Mah Jongg set and official Mah Jongg card. The Library also has a limited number of Mah Jongg sets and cards to use during open play.
Games are non-betting as gambling is not allowed in the library. Registration is required. Click here to register.

Mardi Gras Masks
Thursday, February 12, 6 p.m.
Join us for an in-person craft event! Make you own Mardi Gras mask from various materials.

High School Volunteer Club
Saturday, February 14, 10 a.m.
FEarn community service hours at our high school volunteer club. Volunteers can work on special projects or train to become a volunteer shelf reader.
Registration is recommended but drop-ins are welcome if space permits.

Tween Book Bedazzling
Thursday, February 19, 6 p.m.
Bring a book with an interesting cover and we will provide the BLING to bedazzle it! This program is for students in grades 4 through 6.

Jigsaw Puzzle Competition
Saturday, February 21, 11 a.m.
Join us for an all-ages jigsaw puzzle competition! Teams will compete to see who can finish a 500-piece puzzle first or who has fewest pieces remaining after 2 hours. Puzzles have been generously donated by Ravensburger. Teams are permitted to bring sorting trays. The library will have a limited supply available to teams who do not have their own.
Please register for one spot for your team - not as individuals. Teams may contain up to 6 participants.

Sourdough Workshop: The Full Bake
Monday, February 23, 6 p.m.
Join us for a hands-on introduction to sourdough. This workshop covers the basics of what sourdough is, how it works, and what makes it special, while walking through the process from starter to finished loaf. Participants will explore fresh, homemade sourdough through sight, touch, and smell, and learn about essential baking tools during an interactive show-and-tell. The program includes a live demonstration of stretch-and-folds, shaping, and scoring, with opportunities for attendees to try techniques themselves.
Participants will receive recipes and enough starter to bake their own sourdough.

Role-Playing Game for Tweens
Monday, February 23, 6 p.m.
Join us for an introductory RPG (role-playing game). We are starting with Dungeon World -- it's quick and easy to learn, and should run for four sessions. Future meetings will be on the 4th Monday of the month.

Craft Workshop: Gel Plate Monoprinting
Wednesday, February 25, 2 p.m.
Saturday, March 7, 2 p.m.
Create your own gelli plate prints at this hands-on workshop guided by Librarian Rebecca Harlow. Gel plate printing is a beginner-friendly monoprinting technique that uses a reusable gel plate, water-based paints, and textures to create unique, one-of-a-kind prints on paper without a printing press.

NOTE: This workshop will be repeated on Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. Registration opens three weeks in advance of each program date at 7 a.m. All sessions will cover the same content. Please register for one session only.

American Mah Jongg for Beginners
Fridays, February 27, March 6, March 13, and March 20 at 10:30 a.m.
Join us for a 4-week beginner-friendly course with instructors Debbie Farber and Leslie Giambalvo. You’ll learn everything you need to start playing this fun and social game! Attendance at all sessions is required, as each lesson builds on the last. All materials will be provided. Students may borrow the official Mah Jongg card during lessons if they do not have their own. Come learn, play, and have fun with fellow beginners!

Come try out the newest BookTok trend and make your favorite book sparkle!Bring your own hardcover or paperback book and use gem diamond art techniques to bedazzle your book cover.All bedazzling materials will be provided.

Crochet Club
Saturday, March 7, 10 a.m.
The Hooked on the Sound (HOTS) Crochet Guild is a non-profit group of enthusiastic crocheters in New Haven county. HOTS meets monthly to share stitch successes, assist with pattern problems, education, and generally having a great time crocheting! Bring any crochet project you are working on or one you may need help with.
All skill levels are welcome. No registration is needed. Please bring your own supplies.

Wednesday Book Group: The Twelve Tribes of Hattie
Wednesday, February 18, 1 p.m.
In The Twelve Tribes of Hattie by Ayana Mathis, we accompany teenaged Hattie Shepherd on her journey from Georgia to Philadelphia. One of five million African Americans to flee Jim Crow law in the American South in search of economic opportunity in northern cities, Hattie marries and gives birth to 11 children around whom the book’s chapters are woven. The story moves back and forth in time to encompass most of the 20th century while highlighting the important events in the lives of Hattie’s children, who struggle with the lasting effects of Jim Crow and poverty despite the promise of a better life in the north.
