Cold Case Mystery Take Home Kit

Be a cold case detective!  Unsolved Case Files puts you in the shoes of a cold case detective tasked with solving a murder that happened decades ago with only the original investigator’s case file.  Think you can find out who really killed Veronica Falcone?  Our Cold Case Mystery Take Home Kit will let you find out once and for all whether you’re as good as the detectives on TV.  Please register for one kit per household.  Click here to register.

Celebrate noted Black painter Alma Thomas by making your very own collage in her signature style!  Learn about Alma Thomas in the 2024 Nutmeg nominee Ablaze with Color by Jeanne Walker Harvey.  No registration required, kits are available while supplies last on a first come, first served basis.

Teen Book Box

February 20-26

Free book box service for teens in grades 7-12.  Each month that you register you will pick up a box containing two hand-selected teen books for you to borrow as well as some treats and other surprises for you to keep.  After registering, you should receive a confirmation email with a link to a Google Form.  Please be sure to complete this form to finalize your registration and personalize your book box.  You can also access the form at casememoriallibrary.org/teenbookbox.  Please note:  You must register and complete the personalization form each month you wish to receive a book box.

Preschool Playtime

Saturday, February 24, 10:30 a.m.

Come play at our homemade obstacle course designed just for preschoolers!  We’ll build with blocks, go through tunnels, and jump in and out of hula hoops while going around and around.  This event will be held in the Meeting Room.  Click here to register.

The Seven Wonders of the Universe

In the sky above our head, there are wonders too numerous to count.  But what could we choose as the seven most remarkable objects visible, either with just our eyes or with a simple pair of binoculars or a small telescope?  Seven objects which we might call “The Seven Wonders of the Universe.”  Joe Rao was Chief Meteorologist for News 12 Westchester for 21 years, garnering 8 Emmy Nominations, as well as many awards and citations.  Rao comes highly recommended by astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson and editor emeritus of the Farmers’ Almanac Peter Geiger.  Registration is required to receive the link for this Zoom event.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  Click here to register.
