The Amity Board of Education has approved a proposed 2026-2027 budget of $58,809,212, representing an increase of $700,213, or 1.20 percent, over the current fiscal year. The budget was developed over several months, beginning in August, with input from district staff, the Amity Finance Committee
Risana Ahmed of Orange, Connecticut, was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Southern Connecticut State University.


Dominic Mustello, 81 of Orange, formerly of Floral Park, NY passed away peacefully April 27th at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born May 4, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Dominic and Marie Mustello and was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen O'Brien Mustello.

The Friends of the Case Memorial Library announce the upcoming visit of “Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.” On Saturday, May 18 at 2 pm, Sheryl Faye will give another memorable performance as she portrays the late English Queen.


A team of Orange, CT, volunteer firefighters dashed up 34 floors recently and, although they were wearing full structural firefighting gear, there was no fire at the top of the stairs. Instead, there was hope for curing lung diseases.


Many of us were deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved classmate and class president, Francis J. Erba (Fran). In his memory, a group of classmates is proposing the creation of the Francis J. Erba Scholarship Fund.


Amity Regional School District #5, as per state guidelines, is properly disposing of student special education records. The records of any student who has received special services are maintained for six years after their class graduates.


The Holy Infant Church Women’s Guild is having their Installation and Scholarship dinner on Tuesday May 14 at 5:45 pm. It will be at the Birchwoods Banquet Hall at Oakland CC, 1027 Racebrook Rd in Woodbridge. Tickets are $40 per person which includes appetizers, entree, and dessert.
