Ziyan Zhang Is a Winner in the NEML Contest

NEML (New England Mathematics League) is a very popular math contest in the New England area and organized by The Math League.  The goal of The Math League is to promote enjoyment and positive experience for students to study mathematics.  The League organizes various contests for grades 4-12 with topics appropriate to the grade level and questions with a variety of difficulty ranges.  This competition is to encourage youngsters to enjoy a challenge in mathematics and to find problem-solving stimulating.

In the 2022-2023 NEML math competition for eighth grade, Ziyan Zhang won first place in Amity Middle School Orange (AMSO), first place in the Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, and Windham Region, first place in Connecticut, and 17th place in the NEML contest.  Thanks to Ziyan and other students from AMSO, the school ranked first place in the Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, and Windham Region and third place in NEML contest.
