Orange Democrats Launch ‘Inside Scoop’ Town Hall Series

At their annual picnic on August 22, the Orange Democratic Town Committee (ODTC) announced a new series of Town Hall–style events designed to engage voters and answer their questions. The series will feature three forums, giving residents the opportunity to connect directly with candidates for First Selectman, the Board of Selectmen, and the Boards of Education.
The event series, titled “The Inside Scoop,” will be family-friendly, offering residents a relaxed setting to ask questions and share ideas with candidates—complete with scoops of ice cream to top it off.
“These events give voters in our town another opportunity to connect with us,” said Dan Fitzmaurice, candidate for First Selectman. “This isn’t just a campaign tactic—it reflects the way our slate intends to lead in office. By engaging the public, answering questions, and involving residents in town government, we can deliver the best outcomes for Orange.”
“While these forums are a new way to introduce our candidates and give residents an opportunity to engage, they truly reflect the spirit of this year’s slate,” said Jody Dietch, Chair of the ODTC. “You’ve probably already seen many of them out in your neighborhoods, talking with voters. This team is committed to listening to concerns, being responsive, and fostering conversations about ideas that will strengthen our town.”
All events will take place at High Plains Community Center from 6:30–7:30 p.m. The series kicks off with First Selectman candidate Dan Fitzmaurice on Thursday, September 18, followed by the Board of Selectmen candidates on Monday, September 29, and the Orange & Amity Board of Education candidates on Thursday, October 16.
