Parking Lot Paving
Preschool Storytime, Lapsit Storytime, and Toddler Storytime are canceled the week of October 20 due to the paving schedule. If you plan to visit the Library when the parking lot is closed, please park at Town Hall.

American Mah Jongg for Beginners
Fridays, October 17, and 24 at 10:30 a.m.
Curious about American Mah Jongg?
Join us for a 4-week beginner-friendly course with instructors Jodi Viezel and Dara Brosler. You’ll learn everything you need to start playing this fun and social game!

Registration is required. Attendance at all sessions is encouraged, as each lesson builds on the last. All materials will be provided. Students may borrow the official Mah Jongg card during lessons if they do not have their own. Come learn, play, and have fun with fellow beginners!

Haunted House Making

Documentary Feature Winner
This film made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective shows the destruction of the occupied West Bank's Masafer Yatta by Israeli soldiers and the alliance which develops between the Palestinian activist Basel and Israeli journalist Yuval. 1 hr. 40 min.

Crochet Club

All skill levels are welcome. Please bring your own supplies.
The Hooked on the Sound (HOTS) Crochet Guild is a non-profit group of enthusiastic crocheters in New Haven county. HOTS meets monthly to share stitch successes, assist with pattern problems, education, and generally having a great time crocheting! Bring any crochet project you are working on or one you may need help with.
No registration is necessary.

Concert: Spanish Guitar with Dan Garcia
Saturday, November 1, 2 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon of Spanish guitar with Dan Garcia! Dan’s program features compositions from the Americas and Spain, as he soulfully presents works by Villa-Lobos, Agustín Barrios, Jose Luis Merlín, Antonio Ruiz-Pipó, Albéniz, Tárrega, and Brower, and more.
Steeped in tradition and the sounds of old Segovia records, Dan Garcia’s love of Spanish guitar began right at home in his birthplace of Madrid, Spain. From the romantic compositions of Francisco Tárrega to the memorable melodies of Agustín Barrios, Dan’s program of Spanish and South American songs is an authentic offering of personal heritage.
Dan holds a Master’s Degree from the College Conservatory of Music-University of Cincinnati. His studies included master classes with guitar virtuosi Ernesto Bitetti, Oscar Gihglia, Jason Vieaux and Alvaro Pierri.

The Life of a Showgirl Listening Party

Add a sparkly TLOAS decal to your own tee or tote*, make friendship bracelets and buttons, vote in album and song brackets, enjoy themed mocktails and sourdough at our The Life of a Showgirl listening party!
*Please bring your own tee or tote to participate in the decal craft. All other supplies will be provided.
This event is open to all ages but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. We will not be playing the "E" versions of songs.

Ozobots on Parade

Teen Volunteer Club

For high school students entering grades 9-12.
Earn community service hours at our high school volunteer club. Volunteers can work on special projects or train to become a volunteer shelf reader. Registration is recommended but drop-ins are welcome if space permits.

Friends of the Library Book Sale
Saturday, November 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join us for the Friends of the Library's spring book sale. There are books for all ages, DVDs, music, and specialty displays, The “One-of-a-Kind-Finds” table, back by popular demand, will be stocked with a variety of topics.
