Lions Night of Laughter Returns Sept 5 to Support Local Causes

The Lions Club is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated return of Lions Night of Laughter, an annual evening of standup comedy, laughter, camaraderie, and community spirit. Set to take place on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at the High Plains Community Center auditorium, this year’s comedy night promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a star-studded lineup of comedians, and a powerful mission: to support vital charitable initiatives in our local area.

An Unmissable Night of Entertainment

Lions Comedy Night has earned its reputation as one of the region’s premier comedy events, attracting sell-out crowds and some of the freshest comedic talent from around the East Coast. The 2025 event will showcase a diverse roster of four stand-up comics, each with a distinct style guaranteed to keep the audience in stitches. From observational humor and witty anecdotes to sharp satire and harmless irreverence, the night’s performers are ready to bring the house down.

The evening will be expertly emceed by renowned host Craig “Fig” Figuereido, whose quick wit and engaging stage presence set the perfect tone for a night of laughter. Joining Fig are celebrated headliners including:

  • GL Douglas – Known for her razor-sharp humor and unique perspective on everyday life;
  • Kenny Williams – A master of storytelling and physical comedy who has delighted audiences nationwide;
  • Becky Veduccio – Bringing her signature blend of warmth and wit, Becky is sure to charm the crowd.

Supporting Causes That Matter

Lions Comedy Night is not only about entertainment; it is an opportunity for the community to come together in service of worthy causes. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit three key initiatives:

  • Fighting Blindness and Low Vision: Providing no-cost vision screenings for local preschool and elementary school children, support for Fidelco Guide Dogs Foundation, the Lions Low-Vision Center, large-print and audiobooks for the Case Memorial Library, and recycling donated eyeglasses
  • Youth Scholarship Programs: Empowering the next generation through educational support and mentorship opportunities.
  • Community Grants: funding annual mini-grants to deserving candidates in our community conducting youth programs, services to cancer survivors, needy seniors.

Since its inception, Lions Comedy Night has raised over $250,000 for local projects and charities, reflecting the Lions Club’s deep commitment to making a positive difference in the community and the world.

Doors will open at 7:00 PM, with the main program commencing at 7:30 PM. Seating is cabaret-style around tables. Patrons are invited to bring their own beverages and snacks.

Raffles, Prizes, and More

In addition to the main show, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a charity raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and private benefactors. These range from fine dining gift certificates, wine and hobby baskets to lottery ticket trees, with all proceeds going directly to the supported causes.

Flat pricing of $30 per ticket is in effect. The event is expected to sell out quickly, so advance booking is strongly recommended. All proceeds benefit the Orange Lions Charities, going to its charitable initiatives.
