Hours
The Library’s hours are as follows:
- Monday, Thursday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Holiday Closings
The Library will be closed on Thursday, December 25 in observance of Christmas and on Thursday, January 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.
Program Fees
Programs at the Case Memorial Library are free, except as noted for materials charges, and open to the public.
Registration
Registration is recommended for all library programs, unless otherwise noted. Register for events at casememoriallibrary.org/events.

LIBRARY EVENTS
STORYTIMES and PLAYTIMES
Preschool Storytime
Mondays, 10:30 a.m.
For children from three to five years.
Music, movement, and literacy for our preschool friends! Join us as we get ready for the school years. There will be a craft after the storytime session. This program is designed for children and engaged adults. Drop offs will not be permitted.
Lapsit Storytime
Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.
For babies up to 24 months.
Little ones and their caregivers are invited to explore books, sing songs, and practice interactive nursery rhymes with Ms. Angela! This program includes storytime followed by an optional group playtime. This program is designed for children and engaged adults. Drop-offs will not be permitted.
Toddler Storytime
Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.
For children from eighteen months to two years.
Get the wiggles out with Ms. Angela! Stories, music, dancing, and more fill this high-energy storytime for toddlers and their grownups. This program includes storytime followed by an optional group playtime. This program is designed for children and engaged adults. Drop-offs will not be permitted.
EVENTS FOR CHILDREN
Traditional Chinese Painting
Friday, December 12, 3 p.m.
For children in grades 1-6.
Join students from the Chinese Honor Society at Amity Regional High School to learn about traditional painting techniques and make your own painting! Registration is required.
Make & Take Craft: Mystery Gift
Saturday, December 13, 1 p.m.
For children in grades 3-6.
Looking for a great gift idea? We’ll make a craft that’s big on TikTok and perfect for everyone—details are hush‑hush to keep the surprise! Registration is required.
KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along
Friday, December 26, 2 p.m.
For children and families.
Bored on Boxing Day? Come and sing along to the hit movie! We'll have hot cocoa and candy canes. Bring your own blankets and snacks while we picnic in the meeting room. Registration is required.
Make Your Own Pizza Party
Saturday, December 27, 11 a.m.
For children in grades 1-6.
Come join our pizza party! Matt from My Productions CT will be here to teach us how to make our very own pizzas from scratch. Registration is required.
Drop-in Crafts
Monday, December 29, 2-4 p.m.
Tuesday, December 30, 2-4 p.m.
For children and families.
Drop by the children’s room to do a fun craft! No registration required.
Noon Year’s Eve
Wednesday, December 31, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
For children and families.
Come and count down to 12 o'clock! We're ringing in the New Year at noon with crafts, music, and a balloon drop. Registration is required.

Teen Book Boxes: December

Our free book box service for teens! Each month that you register you will pick up a box containing two books selected by our librarians based on your reading preferences for you to borrow as well as some treats to keep. Registration is required.
Teen Book Bedazzling
Saturday, December 20, 2 p.m.
For students in grades 7-12.
Come try out the newest BookTok trend and make your favorite book sparkle! Bring your own hardcover or paperback book and use gen diamond art techniques to bedazzle your book cover. All bedazzling materials will be provided. Registration is required.
Teen Volunteer Club
Thursday, December 11, 6-8 p.m.
Monday, December 29, 2-4 p.m.
For students entering grades 9-12.
Earn community service hours at our high school volunteer club. Volunteers can work on special projects or train to become a volunteer shelf reader. Registration is recommended. Drop-ins are welcome if space permits.
EVENTS FOR ADULTS
American Mah Jongg Club
Fridays, 10:30-12:30
Come to an open play club with fellow Mah Jongg enthusiasts. These sessions are intended for players of all skill levels who are familiar with American Mah Jongg as instruction is not provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own American Mah Jongg set and official Mah Jongg card. The Library also has a limited number of Mah Jongg sets and cards to use during open play. If you are interested in learning to play American Mah Jongg please check our calendar for future classes in early 2026.
Mystic Chamber Music: A Night of Regency
Monday, December 15, 6:30 p.m.
An immersive musical experience that will transport the listener to the time of Jane Austen and the regency, featuring music that was composed and premiered in her time as well as dance music of the time, arranged for the string quartet and performed by world-class musicians. Join us for pre-show refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required. Sponsored by the Janice Fodero Fund.
Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday Party
Tuesday, December 16, 2-4:30 p.m.
Stop by the Library for a piece of birthday cake on Jane Austen’s 250th birthday. Registration not required.

Crochet Club
Saturday, January 3, 10 a.m.
The Hooked on the Sound Crochet Guild meets monthly to share stitch successes, assist with pattern problems, education, and generally having a great time crocheting! Bring any crochet project you are working on or one you may need help with. All skill levels are welcome. Please bring your own supplies. This is a drop-in event.

Ban This Book Club: Breathless
Monday, February 2, 7 p.m.
Breathless by Jennifer Niven is the 2nd most challenged book in the country with 20 bans in 2025, as tracked by PEN America. Join us as we discuss this as a work of literature as well as an object of censorship. Discussion led by Librarian Rebecca Harlow. Registration is recommended. Drop-ins are welcome if space permits.
